The Terrible Crime!

A couple of weeks ago, there was a terrible crime that happened near our school. Helicopters we're flying around and police sirens we're going off. Our whole school we're on lock down, we had to lock all the doors and the windows, and stay inside.

'What's Up' in Netball?

We had to do a News Report of our choice and we chose our Netball game. There were 3 of us and we all had a job to do. One person had to be the Script Writer, one had to be the Reporter and the other person had to be the Technician.
Here is Helen's reporting on the sport we had chosen.

This is the first of many daily reports form the Room 20 News Crew - there'll be a new Crew each day!

Because this is our first example from a group completing this task we've included the Rubric to show how well they did, including the things they might reflect on and improve next time.

A moment in time...

Nothing, nothing at all was happening. Just Sir blabbering on and on about safety and how to use the tools. But as bored as I was I knew that it was for a good cause. A blank expression and my mind empty, I tried so hard to look interested but it was just no use.
Actually I thought that the most exciting part was gong outside for only a five minute break! Feeling the air blow past my face and seeing birds fly past was pretty much my highlight for the day, even if it was only for five (short) minutes.

Eye Witness of an Eruption.

It was 3p.m on a Wednesday with every one still doing there daily jobs. I had perched myself on my front door step. Suddenly I felt a cold breeze of wind and a sudden movement beneath the ground.I heard a loud BANG!!! that knocked me off my feet.
There I was witnessing Maunga Loa erupt. We were all frightened because it was the largest and most active volcano in the world. Most people got out of sight from the volcano but some didn't. The survivor's could do nothing but stand there and watch their town being destroyed and the tremendous lava flows demolishing everything in its sight.

Cyber Coach

Yesterday we were told that the Year 7's were in for a surprise! And surprised we were when we got to the Hall and were introduced to Cyber Coaching.
It was similar to 'Jump Jam' but there was a huge variety of programmes that you could choose - from Combat to Cheerleading. Whatever you selected a Coach would teach you step by step and take you through either a series of exercises or teach a routine.
Check it out and you'll see what a fantastic time we had.
