EMPATHY

We've been talking a lot about what Empathy looks like, sounds like and feels like... here's some of our thoughts.

SO FAR SO GOOD!
Class 1's new classroom is progressing really fast now. I reckon the builders are working really hard for us to have it as soon as possible. Who knows maybe weeks from now we'll have our newly built classroom to use.
Hopefully it's built in time for Term 2. I guess I'm saying that the builders have been making a lot of progress with the building of our new class.
IT'S COMING ALONG QUICKLY!!

Empathy And Sympathy

A few girls from Class 1 created a simple movie showing the differences between Empathy and Sympathy. They used songs as well as speech to tell the story. Enjoy!

Calvin's Back!

One the first day of school we started off writing a simple sentence about how we were feeling and then added to it. Here is an example form Calvin.

WALT:add detail to my sentences.

While I was walking to school, I was a bit anxious and hoping that I wouldn't be in a class with friends that could steer me in the wrong direction. not to mention a boring class.

I went to the hall for our school Immersion assembly. I saw lots of my friends, even ones from a whole range of schools.
Embarrasing ...I ended up in the wrong class for the first half of the day, because there were two calvin's and I went to the wrong Calvin's class. The rest of the day was better as I settled into my proper class.

Futureintech Ambassador

We were lucky enough to have Bronwyn Brown come and talk to us about food and nutrition and her job. Bronwyn is a Food Technologist at Horleys and she helped us to think about what is really in our food and how the diet of an elite athlete might differ from our own.
Maybe one of us will have a job like hers one day!
Thanks for coming and sharing your expertise Bronwyn, and a big thank you also to Alison from Futureintech who organised this Ambassador visit.

Will.I.am@Pt England...

Introducing WillIAm from Team 4 Pes on Vimeo.

Today we had the privilege of having the man himself at Pt England School, he even came to visit us in Room 22. He had a great message for us and also gave the Manaiakalani Foundation a very large koha to help us on our learning journey! What an amazing day. Watch and listen to his message.

First Session With Miss Muliamasealli.

“Good morning Ms M!” we all said as we were getting ready to start our musical morning session with her. It was nice and cold inside the music room, it felt refreshing as their was a soft breeze coming past. We had a discussion with the Ms M about Pacific Beats and what different instruments we could hear. There were all sorts of instruments like for example , Guitars, Ukulele , Drums and so on.... But the main thing was having fun and we all enjoyed ourselves so it was cool. Can't wait to go back next week:)

Athletics 2012

Athletics  2012 was once again another great day where we pitted our skills and speed against one another. Some of us secured a spot in the team that  will compete in the Eastern Zone Athletics competition at Lloyd Elsmore next week.
