Basketball

Another great session with the Coaches from Auckland Basketball.

Beep Test

Have you ever done a beep test before? On the first week of school I went to the courts to do my beep test. My whole class came with me because it would of been hard to do everyone one person at a time. I went to do my beep test so I can gage fitness level. A beep test is a test, and you have to run to a line that is 20 metres away and back. If you don’t make it before the beep sounds you are out.

I think I had a great score of 6.3, but I think I could have done better. Before we even started the test I was feeling nervous about it. I had made it to level six and started to slow down which meant that I was just making to the line before the beep.

The beep test was a challenge for me because it was the first time I had done a beep test. I think that I did good in my beep test and can’t wait for the next one so I can beat my score, I am aiming to get a score of 7.0 in week five when my class goes for the beep test again.

Art Alive Immersion

Last week was our Annual Year 7 and 8 camp. Once again our school field was transformed in to tent city for the week as 150 of us spent 2 nights experiencing the great outdoors right here in our own backyard.
During the first two days we completed a Rotation of various activities that gave us the opportunity to try new experiences and have lots of fun. The PE version of the Amazing Race was a favourite for many and involved, among other things, a team finding and assembling a hobo stove over a fire to cook an egg!
The ultimate highlight for many was undoubtedly the arrival of the Warriors at Swimarama. How surprised and excited we were to get to share the pool with our heroes. We splashed cheered and generally created quite a scene.

Exhausted and ready for our own beds we headed for home with some great memories and looking forward to doing it all over again next year.

Our First Week.

We've spent our first week in R22 playing games to help us learn and get to know each other better, and learning about being 'Respectful' and what that looks like. We were reunited with our Netbooks and have worked hard and stayed focussed. What a great start to the Year.
Next week we'll be thinking carefully about our goal in the classroom for this Term.

Respect

Our school wide Value that is our focus throughout this 2012 is RESPECT.

Everyone in Room 22 contributed to this Wordle by writing a sentence about what 'Respects looks like'.
