Cross Country

I felt nervous as the 10 year old boys were up next. As we got to the start line my legs started to wiggle, my tummy tiggled like there were butterflies in it. Snap! Everyone sprinted off except for Jayden and I. When I got up to the first cone mud squeezed in to my toes.

As I got out of the school grounds, splash! Mud all over my legs...

Cross Country Training

WOW! Yesterday I felt a bit nervous as I sat down on the cold concrete waiting for the beginning of Cross Country. First we watched the new Entrants do their run, well I didn't really see them run because my view was blocked by a sea of heads in front of me, but I thought they were pretty fast.
Then I waited for our turn to run the long course. All too quickly, the time came! We had to stand up and line up on the starting line... Then Mrs Lagitupu said "On your marks, get set. GO!"
Off I went down to the tree, past Val over to the wooden monkey bars, along the fence through the gap and over the log, up on to the big field, onto the squishy mud, and finally on to the finish line.
The people who came first were Alisi in the 11 year old girls, then Simone and I can't remember who was 3rd, but I do know Brennah was fourth!
After all that I felt great! I was glad that I had finished. My training through the term had paid off!

Cross Country Training

At nine forty we had to go Cross Country Training. Everybody was complaining because we weren't aloud to wear shoes when we got to the field. Our teacher Mrs Nua was wearing bright blue gumboots .The field was soft and moist it was like standing in quick sand but with the texture of cake mix .When we started running it was like my feet were absorbing the mud .Since the field is lower on the other side the longer we ran the more softer the soil got .The first half I jogged but then I ran faster and faster I passed some people but not as much as I hoped I was coming close to the mud puddle Mr Palmer said to run through so I did that was cool .Then I ran and ran until I passed the finish line hooray .I don't know what I came, but I think I must of came somewhere in the middle of everyone who ran .Well maybe next time I'll come first, second or third.

Nga Kaituhi o PES

Hey there readers! Welcome to our space. We all love writing at Pt England and want to share some of it with you. Most recently we have had our school Cross Country which involved lots of mud, sweat and some budding Olympians.
Read all about it!
